Dr. med. univ.
Rene Ratschmann
I was born in Linz an der Donau, but I spent my formative years in Mautern and Krems an der Donau. I graduated from the BRG/ Krems in 1995.
My path led me to the University of Vienna in the summer of 1997, where I studied medicine and finally completed my studies with a dissertation. During this time, I was lucky enough to be involved in an NGO project in Namibia (TKMOAMS).
After two years in research, I decided to do my specialist training in paediatrics at the University Clinic for Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Vienna General Hospital).
After completing my residency, I moved to the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Rudolfstiftung Hospital. This gave me the opportunity to take over the management of the paediatric outpatient clinic at Krankenhaus Nord.
Parallel to my hospital work, I worked for several years as a locum doctor in various paediatric practices in Vienna. This time gave me valuable insights and experience.
Apart from my university education and my work in hospitals, my three children are my most valuable teachers. Through them, I have learnt to understand and solve the worries and problems that are brought to me, not only as a doctor, but also as a dad.
These experiences gave me the desire to set up my own practice. In January 2019, my dream came true: I opened “Ordi Donau Kids” in Donaufelder Straße.
